Submission
Quill & Quire operates independently of any academic institution, providing an equal opportunity for all students to contribute. We do not impose restrictions based on page numbers or formats but rather collaborate with authors to enhance and develop their projects. While a 'page range' of 4-25 in Chicago format is recommended, it is not mandatory, and submissions exceeding these parameters may receive editing suggestions to prepare them for publication.
Thesis submissions, with varying requirements from different institutions, are published annually, creating a space for in-depth exploration ranging between 20-100 pages.
Quill & Quire recognizes the uniqueness of projects that may not be in written form and welcomes submissions in various formats. Selected non-written projects will be featured on our website, and an accompanying analysis or review, either by the author or one of our editors, may be included in the semesterly journal.
Each journal publication will curate a collection of 7-9 essays, and while submissions may be organized around a specific 'theme' or 'motif,' this is not a requirement. In the event of an overwhelming volume of submissions, authors may be given the option to defer their inclusion to a future publication or terminate their submission. At Quill & Quire, we are dedicated to providing a platform for the diverse voices and perspectives within the field of Medieval Studies, contributing to the scholarly discourse and fostering a vibrant community of young scholars.
Pieces are submitted by attaching a link to a Google Doc or by emailing QuillQuireJournal@gmail.com. If emailing please list the subject line as Fall 2024 Submission.
